
Confucius: Well known philosopher Confucius lived in the time period of 551 to 479 B.C. which at that time period was filled with warfare and disorder in China. The philosophy he designed was to restore peace and stability back to the Chinese during that period. Confucianism was based on the respect of family, social order and he believed everyone had a fixed role in society from when they were first born. The way he explained it was,"Let the prince be the prince, the minister a minister , a father a father, and a son a son". By people following their roles and respecting their social rank, the Chinese would maintain order, children would respect their rulers , and rulers would respect their nation. Confucius stressed the significance of moral virtue by him saying that the wise ruler that governed through moral example not force and he said that people could refine themselves and gain virtue through education. Later, the philosophy was looked at more deeply since of the uprising popularity in Buddhism. In the Song era, the thinking had started Neo-Confucianism which made Confucius's philosophy worded so it answered questions about the true meaning of life. Some were actually even sought enlightenment in the Buddhist sense. In the Mongol periods, the power of Confucianism wasn't that significant to the mongols so its power throughout the periods.
