The common class was devided based on age and sex. Each catagory had its own work and dutie. Boys from 9 to 16 were to herd te llamas and alpacas. Girls from 9 to 12 gathered wild plants for dyes and medicines. These girls were married by 16, although some were chosen to train for the state service where they wove clot for Inca nobles. Men 25 through 50 raised crops and served as soldiers. Old men still did taskes at 70 like weaving ropes. The common class lived in communities called ayllus and all lived in one room houses. They wore simple cloth made of cotton or alpaca wool. There was absolutley no private property and worshipped many gods, including nature spirits. Priests performed rituals to bring good harvest.
