Johann Gutenburg making the printing press allowed many people learn to read and write because there were more books and books were cheaper. The first thing Johann Gutenburg published was the new translation of the bible in the vernacular. This allowed many people to study the bible an dlearn and develop new religions. Making paper also helped to make books.
